Are You Shopping for New Windows? Consider These Items First

With a wide selection of window styles and materials to choose from, it may be overwhelming to choose the right one that suits your needs and preferences. You’ll need to consider factors, such as added insulation, if you want to save on energy costs for years. Here are a few things you need to consider when you’re having trouble finding the ideal window for your home.

The Importance of Choosing the Ideal Window

Only the right kind of windows can greatly benefit you and your home. You’ll see a lot of window options that claim to help you save a lot on heating and cooling bills, but keep in mind that not all of them work the same way. It’s still possible to have a replacement window that can help you save a lot in the long run. But that still depends on a few factors, such as the material the windows are made of, how much shade you have around your home, the climate you live in, how many windows you have and how good your insulation is.

Consider Your Ideal Window Options

Your window choice can still make an impact on your home’s comfort and energy efficiency. That means you’ll need to consider the material, glazing, style and installation could have a big impact on your energy bill. Also consider other features, such as ease of maintenance, so you’ll only need to call your trusted window and roof maintenance contractor for the occasional inspection or when there’s a problem you can’t fix alone.

  • Materials – Your window’s appearance, durability and insulation can be affected by your chosen window framing material. Wood-framed windows, for instance, provide good insulation, but are heavy and high-maintenance. Vinyl-frame windows also have good insulation properties and require only minimal maintenance.

  • Glazing – Some window glazes and glass technologies can provide better insulation, light quality and condensation resistance. For example, windows with low-emissivity (low-e) coatings often are more energy-efficient than windows without.

  • Style – The style of your window affects how well it can insulate. Keep in mind that single-hung, double-hung and sliding styles tend to leak more air than casement, awning and hopper ones.

  • Installation – Your windows need to be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Otherwise, your home won’t be as comfortable as it should be, and you still won’t save as much. As much as possible, hire your locally trusted windows installer so you won’t have any problems down the road.

I just wanna give a shout out to one of your guys who jumped out of vehicle to help me push my van out from 62 onto coker Butte this morning awesome job and thank you so much..

No hassles, no stress roofing contractor.

We've worked with a number of contractors over the years doing home improvement projects and I can say that, without question, working with Pressure Point was about as easy as it gets.

Everything about the project, from sales all the way to final inspection, went like clockwork and without a hitch.  They delivered more than they promised, on time and within budget.   We could not have been happier with their personnel, products and services.  Highly recommended!

I've changed my review from a 1 star to a 4 stars. Matt Stone got right on a pretty poor job done installing a skylight. He had his guys remove the skylight, move it, repair the roof and inside ceiling to its original state, paint it, repair some external trim that was damaged, and all within a few days after talking to him about the multiple problems. It was really an eyesore from the inside. I'd give a 5 star if this had been done well the first time. The skylight just didn't fit the space I first wanted it and was told it would. More communication about the potential problems might have allowed this to be done right the first time. But, Pressure Point Roofing gets 5 starts for making amends and correcting a pretty ugly problem, very fast! Thank you.

I needed someone to come out to take a look at a leaky roof. I contacted Pressure Point Roofing, Inc. and they came out the same day. They gave me a quote to fix the problem and I agreed to their terms. It was about 4PM and I knew they closed at 5PM but they stayed and fixed the leak at no additional cost. I was very happy and impressed. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Pressure Point Roofing for earning our families trust. Will definitely be doing business with you again.

Wouldn't be good if I didn't think the best of my own company right?!

Matt Stone

Excellent experience, prompt and professional estimate, showed up on schedule (actually a day early) and did a thorough and complete job. All personnel were professional, polite and great at their jobs. Would recommend to anyone.

I am so happy I chose Pressure Point to replace my 40-year-old roof.  The crew was professional, efficient, and answered all my questions, addressed the few concerns I raised, and made me feel comfortable, trusting them with such a big project.  I couldn't be happier with their work and the look of my new roof.
